Overview:
IBM OMEGAMON® for IMS® on z/OS® is a performance-monitoring software for IMS workloads, which provides a single control point in Parallel Sysplex® and monitors IMS Connect TCP/IP transactions. It is a part of the OMEGAMON family of software products.
IBM OMEGAMON for IMS on z/OS provides alerts, finds root-cause issues and takes corrective actions. It reduces potential delays and outages by monitoring near real-time metrics and analyzing historical data. It also provides access to coupling facility structure statistics, shared queue counts, database lock conflicts and more.
Comprehensive monitoring and performance management
Provides real-time visibility into IMS subsystems, tracking transaction response times across the IMSplex.
Problem detection and quick troubleshooting
Detects performance bottlenecks with bottleneck analysis displays and monitors applications exceeding service-level commitments.
Integration with z/OS and broader IBM Monitoring Suite
Integrates with IBM monitoring tools for unified mainframe control. IMS Commander consolidates MTO and z/OS logs, allowing IMS commands from one interface.

Performance and availability management with application response time tracking
Monitors IMS transaction performance, including response times across IMS Shared Queues (CSQ), helping to identify delays and bottlenecks within the IMSplex. Response time tracking is part of Response Time Analysis, which allows monitoring and tracking of IMS transactions in real-time.
Historical data analysis with Detailed Application Performance Monitoring
Collects performance data, while the Application Trace Facility provides detailed metrics on IMS applications, including DL/I, Db2 and MQ calls, to support in-depth trend analysis.
Automated problem detection with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) alerts
Detects and alerts on potential issues by using customizable thresholds and built-in KPI tracking to quickly identify performance problems in IMS.
